GROTON, N.Y. — A large police presence has been called to an apartment building on the 100 block of Main Street in Groton Friday afternoon.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and Groton Police Department have the area blocked off with caution tape. They have been at the scene since at least noon.

Officials wearing face masks and plastic bodysuits — which appear to be hazmat suits used during some drug seizures — have removed large bags out of the building.

A Groton police official would not comment to The Ithaca Voice at this time, citing a pending investigation.
