ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department crime blotter, which was updated Wednesday, lists 21 pages of drinking violations, noise or party complaints within the past nine days.

According to the blotter, which list crimes from April 30 to May 8,  68 violations or misdemeanor charges we filed against people, all under the age of 30.

Police Chief John Barber confirmed that there is a ‘Quality of Life’ detail happening until the end of Memorial Day weekend, which includes having extra officers on the streets.

The last time numbers spiked so high was when classes at Cornell and Ithaca College  kicked off at the end of the summer.

The offenses are as follow:

Open container: 21

Unlawful possession of alcohol: 17

Noise, party, social events complaints: 14

Noise amplified sound: 4

Person less than 21 obtaining alcohol: 2

Public urination: 5

Criminal possession of controlled substance: 3

Disorderly conduct: 2
