ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell police have made an arrest in a group assault incident that happened May 1 near Myron Taylor Hall.

According to a news release, Eric J. Kim, 20, is accused of causing “serious physical injuries after kicking the victim in the face when he was on the ground.” He’s charged with felony second-degree assault.

In a previous statement, police said the victim told police that he was trying to help a non-Cornell friend who was involved with a fight between several other men and a female. The male was then confronted by the group, along with several other people, and assaulted.

Police said they’ve identified the primary people involved in the incident, but it’s unclear who they are or if they will face charges.

Kim was arraigned in the City of Ithaca Court and released on his own recognizance until his next court date.
