STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Cornell graduate won Miss New York this weekend after previously winning several titles in the area, including Miss Finger Lakes in 2013.
Camille Sims, 23, was crowned on Sunday night at the historic St. George Theatre in Staten Island, according to silive.com. She’ll go on to compete in the Miss America Pageant at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Sept. 11.
On Saturday, Sims was also awarded the Talent Award after performing a jazz vocal to “Sway” and won the top Interview Award Sunday.
According to the PageantsNews.com, Sims’ winning history includes being crowned Miss Fulton County Outstanding Teen 2007, Capital City’s Outstanding Teen in 2010, Miss Finger Lakes 2013, Miss Fulton County 2015, and recently Miss Pride of New York 2016.
Sims will also be awarded a $10,000 scholarship for her win.
