ITHACA, N.Y. — The property at 400-404 Stewart Avenue — where the iconic Chapter House once stood before being totaled in a fire last spring — has been sold for $850,000.

The owner of the property where the Chapter House once stood — Sebastian Mascaro of Florida — sold the property through MSW Management LLC. The owner of 406 Stewart Avenue, LLC, — James L. Goldman of suburban Philadelphia — purchased the property. Documents for the sale were officially processed Wednesday.

Mascaro had purchased the Chapter House property in a $2 million sale in October 2010, a transaction that included 406 Stewart Avenue, also destroyed in the April 2015 fire, and the undamaged 116 Osmun Place.

The 116 Osmun Place  and 406 Stewart Avenue properties were then sold to James L. Goldman on April 1, 2015, two weeks before the inferno erupted and destroyed the Chapter House.

Previously proposed plans to rebuild the Chapter House were in the works as recently as Jan. 28 with a projected February construction date. There were talks that the pub could reopen as soon as this summer.

Plans for reconstruction of the landmark Chapter House bar are uncertain at this time.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more information.
