On May 1, 2016 at about 12:25 a.m., Ithaca Police Department officers were alerted of a possible meth lab inside of a shed near a vacant commercial business lot in the 700 block of West Buffalo Street.

Officers arrived on scene and conducted a cursory search of the area. Officers discovered numerous components that are used to manufacture methamphetamine. Officers cordoned off the area and notified the New York State C-CERT Team. The C-CERT Team responded to assist earlier this morning.

The C-CERT Team secured the shed after collecting numerous items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine, including liquid meth oil. These components are commonly referred to as “precursors.”

Also discovered in the shed was a large amount of property that officers believed was stolen from the Ithaca area. The stolen property was collected and transported to IPDHQ for processing. Investigators have begun the process of determining the owner of each piece of property recovered.

No charges have been filed at this time.

If you have information that would aid this investigation, please contact the Ithaca Police Department.
