ITHACA, N.Y. — Winter weather is causing school delays throughout Tompkins and surrounding counties Monday morning after a downpour of snow since Sunday night.

According to the IthacaNet website, the following delays were reported as of 7 a.m.:
Two-hour delay:
Ithaca City School District
Dryden Central School District
Spencer Van Etten Central School District
Corning Painted Post Area School District
Opening on a one-hour delay:
Lansing Central School District
Closed today:
Whitney Point Central School District
Marathon Central School District
According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. throughout Tompkins and surrounding counties.
At least one to two inches of snow is still expected throughout the morning, which, along with some freezing rain, is expected to cause icy conditions.
