Update 1:44 p.m.: According to the Cayuga Heights Fire Department Facebook page, as of 1:15 p.m. NYSEG had shut off the gas and two fire engines that were on scene have cleared out.

ITHACA, NY – A construction crew working near Salem Drive and Birchwood Drive in Northeast Ithaca struck a gas line, causing the road to be partially closed off Wednesday morning.

As of 11:45 a.m. Cayuga Heights Fire Department is on the scene.

According to Tompkins County Dispatch, NYSEG is on the way to shut off the gas main.
