Sean P. Smuda, 24, is charged with misdemeanor forcible touching in connection with the crime and subsequently released from the Tompkins County Jail on $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond.

According to the records, Smuda was at 518 W. Seneca St. during the last week of February,

During a conversation with a woman in private, records state that Smuda began rubbing the front of his pants and telling the woman he wanted to engage in sexual activities with her. The woman then attempted to leave the area, but not before the man began kissing her neck, grabbing her buttocks and making multiple requests for sex.

The woman was able to flee the area.

At 3:33 p.m. on March 18, police records show that the woman was able to then identify Smuda in a lineup as the man from the recovery center.

He’s due back at the Ithaca City Court on April 22 at 10 a.m. Friday.

Correction at 12:26 a.m. — Sean Smuda is 24-years-old, not 42-years-old as the article originally stated.
