ENFIELD, N.Y. — An Enfield woman is facing charges after police say she choked a 12-year-old boy early Tuesday morning.

Tanona M. Irvin, 38, of Enfield, is charged with misdemeanors for criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the responded to a call on Mecklenburg Road in the town of Enfield after a domestic dispute was reported. An initial investigation by officials showed that Irvin grabbed a 12-year-old boy by the neck and choked him.
The boy did not sustain injuries during the attack, police said.
Irvin was arraigned in the town of Newfield court. A Tomkins County Jail official said Wednesday afternoon that Irvin is still in custody in lieu of posting $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond. and an order of protection was issued against her by the court.
Irvin’s next court date is May 2 in the town of Enfield.
