ITHACA, N.Y. — Police are looking for three men they say reportedly attacked and injured another man in Ithaca Wednesday night.

According to officials, the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. on the 300 block West Buffalo Street. The male who was attacked was bleeding from an injury on his face when police arrived and later declined medical treatment.
The Ithaca Police Department released the following information about the incident:
On April 27, 2016 at about 9:45 pm Ithaca Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of West Buffalo Street regarding a robbery that had just occurred.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the victim, who was bleeding from a laceration on his face.

The victim advised he was walking on West Buffalo Street when three unidentified males passed by him in the same direction. The victim advised that the last male to pass him suddenly turned around and punched him multiple times in the face. The other two males turned around and also punched the victim.

The victim tried to run away, however the three males grabbed a hold of him and forcefully removed his backpack. The three males then fled the area on foot.

The victim then contacted police with the assistance of an uninvolved motorist who stopped to help the victim.
