Homecoming Players presents “Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley — Three sisters, three identities, one crisis.
A reunion forged by tragedy, ablaze with resentments, dysfunction, and humor of true Southern Gothic proportion.
(This concert reading is part of the Kitchen Theatre Company’s Kitchen Sink Series that has support from CFCU.)

Following last month’s wildly popular In the Next Room (or the Vibrator Play), HOMECOMING PLAYERS continues “Murder and Mayhem Mondays” season with Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, Crimes of the Heart.
An untimely death haunts a trio of sisters, yet their love proves stronger than any familial tragedy. Meg (Darcy Martin), Lenny (Chantelle Daniel), and Babe (Kathleen Collins) aren’t exactly mirror images of one another, but when one of the sisters is pushed to the brink by desperation, they pull together during a makeshift reunion.
“A little bit Chekhov and a little bit Eudora Welty, it tells a twangy story of three Southern sisters loving, feuding and fussing through a very bad day.” –Charles Isherwood
“Prickly emotional thickets…which should sting the tear ducts as often as it tickles the funny bone.” –New York Times
“Crimes of the Heart encompasses a slew of memories and events so awful that the sisters ultimately can only laugh about them, which rescues these characters from despair and compels them to overcome their common misfortunes.” –Michael Sommers
