The advisory is recommending that people secure loose objects that are outside and keep a firm grip on steering wheels when driving.

The advisories are also issued in surrounding counties, such as Schuyler, Cortland, Chemung and Oneida.

According to the New York State Electric & Gas website, about 100 people in Tompkins County are without power as of about 10:30 p.m. In Seneca County, 375 people are reporting power outages around the same time.

This is a developing story. The Ithaca Voice will make every effort to update this story early Tuesday with any additional information.
