ITHACA, N.Y. — Police said Monday afternoon that they are still determining the cause of death for a Newfield woman who was missing for more than 10 day in February.
“I still am of the same opinion that I don’t believe there is foul play afoot here,” New York State Police Investigator Rick Haas said Monday.
Carolynn Weeks was found dead Feb. 19 “in proximity of her vehicle” in a remote area on Connecticut Hill. Her family last heard from her on Feb. 8.

Haas said officials are still waiting for results from a medical examiner and forensic pathologist.
He said it is normal for results to take weeks and that it could be another several weeks before a cause of death is determined.
“It’s not uncommon (to wait weeks),” he said.
According to Bangs Funeral Home, a service was held for Weeks on March 4 at Immaculate Conception Church. Her obituary can be read here.
