ITHACA, N.Y. — No matter the time of day, sandwiches made to order make all the difference at Shortstop Deli.
We visited on Saturday morning and watched Shortstop staff put together sandwiches for a platter order, and poked around the store to see what’s behind the counter.
Ithaca Voice Dining calculated that there are approximately 9.4 trillion possible sandwiches you can order in any size, based on the deli sandwich slip. (We counted toasted and untoasted bread options and hot/cold fillings as distinct sandwiches.)
If Shortstop made over 675 million different sandwiches per hour since they opened, they would only be making their first repeats this year.
