ITHACA, N.Y. — On April 16, 2016, Ithaca Children’s Garden (ICG) and Title Sponsor CFCU Community Credit Union (CFCU) will host the fourth annual Tough Turtle adventure obstacle race. The Tough Turtle, named after ICG’s very own larger-than-life turtle, Gaia, is a 5K designed to push your body, challenge your wit, and deliver the mud.

Racers will climb, sprint, crawl and slide through the unique and challenging obstacle course along the Cayuga Waterfront and Black Diamond Trails on the south shore of Cayuga Lake.

EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR RAISED through Tough Turtle registration and FundRACING goes directly to support ICG’s mission of cultivating environmental stewardship, by getting kids outside, having fun and making meaningful connections with the natural world.

The 4th annual Tough Turtle celebrates getting outdoors and saying goodbye to winter with a course that is designed to challenge competitive thrill seekers, families, and participants of all ages and experience levels.

Children not old enough to participate in the large Tough Turtle course will enjoy an equally thrilling and age-appropriate Tough Turtle Junior course, of which there is no advanced registration required.

In addition to pushing physical limits, racers are encouraged to go above and beyond the registration fee and become a FundRACER, to fund-raise among friends, family, and coworkers to support a great cause.

While the real prize will be bragging rights and a tremendous sense of accomplishment, top FundRACERS will qualify for impressive prizes.
