The incident was reported Monday at Charles O. Dickerson High School, Trumansburg Police Chief Tom Ferretti said.

He said about eight students have been suspended and are being interviewed by police, with their parents present, in regard to the incident.

He said no charges have been filed against the students but more information will likely be released next week as the case continues to be investigated.

Principal Jon Koeng said a “small number of students” are facing disciplinary action but said he could not elaborate.

Other students, he said, were not in immediate danger when the incident occurred.

He said school officials are working with police in regard to the incident.
