ITHACA, N.Y. — By 11 a.m. Saturday, hundreds of people crowded into the Ithaca Commons for the 18th annual  Chili Cook-off.

People’s faces and jackets were stained orange while trying out samples from about 30 local restaurants.

The winners were announced by the Downtown Ithaca Alliance Saturday night. Congratulations to all the winners!

Best Vegetarian Chili:
First Place: Moosewood Restaurant
Second Place: Collegetown Bagel /Ithaca Bakery
Third Place: Bandwagon Brewpub

Best Meat Chili:
First Place: Ithaca Ale House
Second Place: Luna Street Food – Short rib, pork shoulder, black bean chili with chocolate-dipped pork belly
Third Place: Taverna Banfi – smokey short rib, chorizo and habanero chili

Best Beverage:
First Place: Wagner Valley – Rose of Cabernet Franc
Second Place: Bacchus Brewing Co. – Brown Ale
Third Place: Ithaca Beer Company – Ginger Beer

Best Other Chili-inspired Items:
Life’s So Sweet Chocolates – Maple Bacon Jalapeno Truffle Bites

Best Presentation:
Mahogany Grill
