ITHACA, N.Y. — Despite above freezing temperatures expected Wednesday, wind chill will still leave Ithaca feeling sub-zero temperatures. But things might be looking up for the weekend.
The National Weather Service is reporting highs today to be in the mid-30s with evening lows in the mid-teens. But south winds up to 7 mph could leave the area feeling as low as – 8 degrees during the early morning hours.
But the good news it that temperatures should genuinely begin warming up throughout the day, which is expected to be mostly sunny, The Weather Channel says. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s by noon and, despite some wind, it will still feel just below 30 degrees. No snow is expected today.
It’s expected to keep warming up throughout the weekend, with temperatures in the 40s Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But expect up to a 40 percent chance of rain those days, the weather service says.
Enjoy the reprieve from winter while you can, though.
Highs are expected to start dropping below 30 degrees again beginning next week, with a polar vortex hitting some parts of Central New York.
