Noah Feldshuh, whose band is best known for the hit “Renegade,” has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, police say.

Feldshuh, an Ithaca native, started X Ambassadors with childhood friends Sam and Casey Harris.

The alt-rock band enjoyed a successful 2015, with “Renegades” reaching number one on the alternative rock playlist, according to USA Today.

The band announced today that it will be playing on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers on Jan. 11.

The following information about the arrest comes from a news release sent Tuesday morning by Ithaca police:

On Green Street at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 27, officers saw a vehicle stopped “in the middle of the roadway, stopped on a crosswalk, for no legitimate reason.”

Officers started a traffic stop, which is when they found Feldshuh was intoxicated and arrested him.

Feldshuh had a blood-alcohol content (BAC) level of 0.16 percent, according to Ithaca police.
