ITHACA, N.Y. — An Ithaca man was taken into custody Monday after police say he threatened a man with a butterfly knife.

Alexander W. Dennis, 31, was taken into custody after New York State Police responded to a dispute at a home on Slaterville Road in the town of Ithaca. Deputies said an investigation revealed that Dennis made the threats to another man at the home.
He was charged with misdemeanors of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.
Dennis was arraigned in the town of Ithaca court and released from custody. He’s scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 17.
