DRYDEN, N.Y. — A vehicle hit a telephone pole near the intersection of Dryden and Mount Pleasant roads, closing traffic both ways in the area, an official said.

The accident happened around 10:22 a.m. and Dryden Ambulance, state police and Varna Fire and Rescue are currently at the scene, a Tompkins County 911 dispatcher said.

He said no major injuries have been reported but confirmed that the road is closed while New York State Electric and Gas Corporation officials head to the scene.

Scanner traffic indicated that the road may be closed for at least an hour and that multiple telephone or electric poles may have been impacted by the crash.
