The male was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after officials were called to the scene around 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to a news release by the Ithaca Fire Department, firefighters and Bangs Ambulance paramedics were already responding to a different EMS call when public safety officers with the college flagged them down for assistance.

The male is still hospitalized as of Monday, but his condition has improved and his injuries are not life threatening, college spokesman David Maley said in an email.

The man who fell allegedly told officials that he can’t remember the incident. Maley said the man is not a student at the college, but said no other information can be released about him.

The Office of Public Safety is still investigating the incident.

Officials have been unable to find any witnesses or any evidence of foul play related to the fall.

“We do not know if it (the investigation) will be able to conclusively determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Maley said.
