ITHACA, N.Y. — A man is charged with having crack cocaine after police executed a search warrant as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking case.

Leonard C. Sterling, 39, of the Bronx, is charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they executed a search warrant on the 200 block of East Buffalo Street on Sept. 25 as part of an investigation into heroin and crack cocaine trafficking involving Sterling.

Officers allegedly found 5.2 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale and more than $3,000 during the search.

Sterling was taken into custody at the scene.

The Ithaca Police Department Special Investigations Unit, Tompkins County Sheriffs Department Criminal Investigations Division, and the New York State CNET Team worked together on the investigation that led to the arrest.
