ITHACA, N.Y. — The Central New York Polo Club and the Cornell Polo Club will play an exhibition arena polo match at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12th, at the John T. Oxley Equestrian Center (220 Pine Tree Road, Ithaca, NY) to benefit the Crisisline of the Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service of Ithaca, NY.

The match will be played in honor of Sue Knight (’81), a Cornell varsity polo team member and supporter who suffered a lifelong battle with depression.

The proceeds raised from the match will go towards funding the Crisisline, a free, confidential 24-hour helpline for people who need help or feel that they are in danger of harming themselves.  The Crisisline is available 365 days a year and is an invaluable resource to those in the community who need assistance; answering over 10,000 calls each year.

Parking and admission to the polo match are free; but donations are welcome.  In addition to the polo match, a silent auction will be featured.  Local vendors will be present including Lou “The Hot Dog Guy” and Celia’s Ice Pops and Vitamin L Chorus will provide musical entertainment.
