ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca Police are still looking for a person of interest in an incident at the West Village Apartments Wednesday night that officials said involved possible gunshots and a man with a shotgun.

Ithaca police Chief John Barber said Christian Little-Paz is still a person of interest and police have not spoken to him as of Thursday afternoon.

He said people who live in the area are not likely in any danger.

“This does not appear to be a random act,” Barber said. “It appears…these two knew each other.”

In a news release yesterday, police said they responded around 5:30 p.m. to an argument on Chestnut Street where witnesses told them a man displayed a “sawed-off shotgun and pointed it at the other male,” during an argument.

Ithaca police officers were seen in the area with guns drawn and a K9 unit for at least an hour.
