Update – New information released by officials has confirmed that the teen was 13, not 14, as originally reported.

ITHACA, N.Y. — A 13-year-old was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the city of Ithaca, police said.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Elm Street and Floral Avenue, said Officer Jamie Williamson.

He said the teen was taken to a regional pediatric trauma center, but said officials are not authorized to release the extent of the teen’s injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
