Officials were called at 4:28 p.m. to the 800 block of Enfield Falls Road where a person had driven a white car off the road.
The car ended up in tree branches off the southbound side of the road. No injuries were reported and airbags deployed in the vehicle, an official said.
Enfield firefighters used power tools at the scene to remove branches from the tree and, with the help of a tow truck, were able to extract the car.
One woman was taken into custody by a state police trooper at the scene, but it is not immediately clear why.
The Enfield Volunteer Fire Company, state police and Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident.
This is a developing story. Check back later for more information.
