Bradley P. Hannula, 22, is charged with a misdemeanor for public lewdness, Cornell University Police said in a news release.

Officials said Hannula drove past a woman around 10:25 p.m. July 27 on Cradit Farm Drive on Cornell’s north campus.

The woman told police the man was masturbating when he asked her for directions. She walked away from the vehicle, which turned around further up the street, and drove past her again — the driver allegedly still masturbating.

Cornell police were able to identify the suspect, who allegedly confessed to the crime.

Hannula is scheduled to appear in Ithaca City Court at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26.
