Ithaca, N.Y., August 11, 2015—The Ithaca City School District (ICSD) announces Lily Talcott as the new principal at Northeast Elementary School.
Ms.Talcott replaces Jeff Tomasik who was named principal of Boynton Middle School in July. Ms. Talcott is making the transition toNortheast Elementary School after serving as a Master Educator in the school district since 2013.
Prior to serving as an administrator, Ms. Talcott was a teacher in the school district since 2006. In addition to her teaching duties, Ms. Talcott helped to facilitate district professional development and worked at the state level designing math curriculum. Ms. Talcott, a graduate of ICSD, holds degrees from SUNY Cortland, Syracuse University, and Wells College.
“Lily has been an exceptional student, teacher, and administrator in the Ithaca City School District. I am happy that she chooses to contribute her talents to our community. Now she will have a special focus on Northeast Elementary School,” said Superintendent Luvelle Brown.
Ms. Talcott stated, “I am honored to be joining the Northeast community. I look forward to getting to know the students, families and staff, and to supporting the outstanding teaching and learning that’s already taking place here. I am excited to apply my experience with and passion for elementary curriculum and instruction to this new role.”
