ITHACA, N.Y. — Old time music will accompany the classic cocktails at Felicia’s Atomic Lounge and Cupcakery on its last night of business.

On Aug. 28, Long John and the Tights is performing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the lounge, located at 508 W. State St. The band plays southern Appalachian Mountain — influenced from around the 1920s to 1940s — mixing in Celtic, bluegrass, and northern square and contra dance music.
“They were one of the original old time bands that played here when we started old time music on Fridays in the ally,” Co-Owner Amelia Sauter said. “I think its a way for us to celebrate the musicians that helped make Felicia’s such a great community.”
She and co-owner Leah Houghtaling said they are opening a new, more food-oriented restaurant in Trumansburg this fall.
Sauter said it’s too early to say what people can expect the last night — such as whether they’ll be selling merchandise or will have specials — but added that people wanting to drink cocktails should arrive early.
The new restaurant will not sell hard liquor so when the lounge is out of a product, they won’t have more in stock.
But Sauter said there will be plenty of champagne to celebrate the closing.
She said Houghtaling, who is the brains behind the bar concoctions, will be using champagne, sake, shōchū and vermouth to launch a brand new bar menu at the Trumansburg European-style cafe.
