ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Voice is seeking student writers and video interns for the Fall 2015 semester. Pay may be available.

Aspiring student writers should be interested in local news, committed to informing the Ithaca community, and, above all, readers of the Ithaca Voice.
Previous Ithaca Voice student interns have gone on to work at the Wall Street Journal and attend Columbia University Law, the University of Chicago, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, among other programs.
In prior semesters, student writers with the Ithaca Voice have covered breaking news like felony trials and globally trending Ithaca jokes; written profiles of everyone from brilliant artists to community leaders; and produced enterprise reporting on subjects like truck safety and, yes, homegrown chickens.
If you’re interested in doing the same, email a resume and 3 to 5 writing samples — don’t worry if they’re not for newspapers! — to Editor Jeff Stein at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Student Video Interns
The Ithaca Voice is seeking interns to join our team this Fall and learn the process of selling and producing local video advertisements. We are a small team, so each intern will play a pivotal production role.
We have produced videos for a client list that includes many of the largest businesses and organizations in the Ithaca, NY area.
We focus on cost effective and creative solutions, so we keep our overhead to a minimum while still producing a high quality product. You will work closely with the Advertising Director, gaining experience in every aspect of production, from concept development to editing.
To apply, email Mike Blaney at email@example.com with your resume and portfolio of previous video work.
