KING FERRY, N.Y. — A fundraiser for two siblings faced with a rare heart consition is happening Sept. 19 in King Ferry.
The event features music, food, raffles and family entertainment.
The following news release was issued about the event:
We need your help! I am writing on behalf of two siblings, Hailey (13) and Hayden (11) Brown of King Ferry, New York.
They are undergoing care at John Hopkins. Their doctor is Dr. Anne Murphy. It is rare for children to inherit the gene for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy from both parents but these kiddos did.
Thankfully they also inherited their parents’ indomitable spirits.
On Saturday, September 19th we are holding a fundraiser to try to help the Brown family by raising funds to help with their medical, travel and other expenses. Our local community is really coming together to support them but we are a small community and we are hoping that with your far reaching voice (no offense) you could give a shout out.
The Browns are a hard working family. Mom, Carrie Uhrovcik Brown, works at Ledyard Farms in King Ferry, New York. Their father, Robert (Bob) Brown, works in local law enforcement after retiring from 20 years serving in the Army’s National Guard.
