The teens — one 13 and the other 19-years-old — were injured after they hit a tree at a high rate of speed, said Lt. Dan Scherer, of the Trumansburg Fire Department. It’s unclear whether the teens were wearing helmets.
One patient was airlifted in a LifeNet helicopter to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with a head injury. The other was taken in a Bangs Ambulance to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania with unknown injuries.
Bangs Ambulance and Trumansburg Fire Department and EMS assisted each other at the scene.
This is a developing story. Check back later for more information.
