Officials were called around 6:54 p.m. to 2167 Danby Road after an ATV driver was in an accident on private property, Lt. Dan Donahue, of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office said.

He said the driver was conscious and responsive when transported by a Mercy Flight helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

West Danby Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene. A Facebook post by the organization stated a reminder to people to wear a helmet and not drink alcohol when operating 4-wheel vehicles.

Officials did not confirm whether alcohol was a factor in Saturday’s accident.
