ITHACA, N.Y. – A tornado watch has been issued in Tompkins County until 11 p.m., the National Weather Service reports.

Scattered thunderstorms, high winds and hail are possible in the area, along with conditions that could produce a tornado.

The watch is also issued for Cortland, Chemung, Schuyler and other Central New York and Southern Tier counties.

In Ithaca, thunderstorms and showers are expected to hit Friday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
