Justin R. Sharp, 29, of Lansing, ran into a wooded area after his vehicle flipped over around 6:35 p.m on the 400 block of Lansingville Road, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The Ithaca Police Department K9 unit and Lansing Fire Department helped deputies look for Sharp, but they did not find him. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Sharp contacted police about the incident the next day.

He’s charged with leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident and failure to maintain lane.  He is scheduled to be in the town of Lansing Court on June 26.
