James “Pip” Marshall and Rashidali Brown are persons of interest in the shooting, said Officer Jamie Williamson, of the Ithaca Police Department.

He said police were called at 3:28 a.m. to an apartment at 150 West Village Place where they found a man with a gunshot wound in his leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to the injury and the man was taken to a hospital.

Witnesses at the scene told police that the injured man got into a disagreement with at least two people — Marshall and Brown — before being shot, and the men fled the scene on foot.

Police said the gun used in the shooting has not been found.
