The 21st Century Library Campaign — Tompkins County Public Library

Ithaca, N.Y. — In celebration of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, local singers, actors, dancers and musicians will come together an audience-inspired improvisational performance art at 7 p.m. May 7 at The Space @ GreenStar, 700 W. Buffalo St. in Ithaca.

The event, called Ways We Care, is free. Donations are welcome.

As part of the awareness events, more than 5,500 community members have written the ways they care for themselves and others on pieces of ribbon. The ribbons will be tied to a large hoop to create a Circle of Caring art project and unveiled at the May 7 event.

The May 7 event is co-sponsored by the Collaborative Solutions Network, Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service, Franziska Racker Centers, the Mental Health Association in Tompkins County, Family and Children’s Service of Ithaca, Bools Flower Shop, and Performing Arts for Social Change.
