Waverly, N.Y. — A Tioga County man faces felony charges for thefts that cost a local business more than $1 million, state police said Tuesday.

Adam M. Madigan, 31, of Dunkle Drive in Waverly, was arrested on Thursday, according to a news release from state police.

The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit in Binghamton. Madigan stands accused of first-degree grand larceny.

“The arrest is the result of a year-long investigation into the falsification of business records and misappropriation of vehicle ownership documents from State Line LLC in Waverly, NY where Madigan was employed,” the news release says.

“The total loss to the business stands in excess of one million dollars. SIU Binghamton was assisted by SIU Albany Investigators.”
