James R. Forjone, 46, of 2868 Munson Road in Interlaken, was discovered to have registered a Facebook account in a false name without reporting it to authorities, according to the Seneca County sheriff’s office.
Authorities found Forjone walking on the university’s campus grounds. He was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail, the sheriff’s office said.
The charges stem from an investigation “in which it was discovered that when Forjone filled out paperwork reporting he had moved to Seneca County he listed a false moving date,” according to a statement from the Seneca County sheriff’s office.
Forjone was charged with offering a false instrument for filing, failing to report an address change and failing to report an internet account, all class E felonies, according to law enforcement.
Forjone was arraigned in Ovid Town Court and will reappear in court on April 13 at 10 a.m.
Investigators were assisted by the Cornell University Police Department.
Forjone was previously convicted of third-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
