Here’s the account given by the Ithaca Police Department, citing the victim:

Around 7:17 a.m., a male victim was cleaning the dew off of the windshield of his car, which was parked on the street.

A pickup truck stopped next to him on the road. As the driver began talking to the victim, the other males exited the truck. The victim didn’t notice the other men leaving the pick-up truck.

Then, “without notice and without provocation, the three males then assaulted him, one possibly utilizing a pipe during the assault,” a statement said.

The three suspects got back into the pickup truck and fled. The victim called 911, was treated on scene for his injuries but was not hospitalized.

IPD is now looking for help identifying the suspects. The number for police is 607-272-3245.
