Ithaca, N.Y. — Authorities at Ithaca College are investigating a report of arson that occurred Saturday night at around 10 p.m.

Someone apparently tried setting a roll of toilet paper on fire in a first floor bathroom at IC’s Rowland Hall.

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management is conducting the arson investigation.

“Arson is a very serious offense and poses a threat to life and property,” a statement from IC said.

“We remind our campus community to immediately report any unusual or suspicious persons, vehicles and activity. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Office of Public Safety at 607-274-3333 or to leave an anonymous voice mail message at 607-274-1060.
