Svante:
Why I Shop Downtown

It’s 57 degrees in Ithaca right now, with a high of 66 predicted for the day. Sadly, that’s not expected to last forever — as snow showers are slated to come back this weekend, the weather service says.

From the latest NWS briefing:

*Southerly winds will bring milder air for Thursday with highs generally reaching the upper 50s to low 60s under plenty of sunshine. Clouds increase late day with a cold front bringing the area some showers Thursday night into Friday. Friday remains quite mild with a continuing chance for showers as the front stalls over the area.

*Low pressure will move north late Friday into early Saturday bringing a bout of some steadier rain which will change over to snow Friday night as colder air moves back in. The potential exists for some accumulation, mainly over central NY and on grassy surfaces.

Friday should be similarly mild, with colder air coming back in this weekend. Please tell the Easter bunny to dress appropriately, if you see him.
