Here’s the rest of the press release:
Chief Barber is excited for this opportunity to connect with the Ithaca community on a more personal level. Chief Barber commented “Syracuse Chief of Police Frank Fowler recently began a similar campaign called ‘Coffee with the Chief’ that is very successful. I’m confident that this program will be just as successful. I say that because I recognize that our residents and visitors are our greatest assets, and that people often feel more comfortable talking about issues that concern them in an informal setting. That is the catalyst for this program”.
Mayor Myrick is equally excited, commenting “This will give community members the unique opportunity to sit down with Chief Barber and I for a few minutes and express any concerns or ask any questions they might have. It’s part of my overall plan for Excellence in Policing.”
There won’t be any speeches and there won’t be an agenda. Constructive criticism is welcomed and no reservation is required. Free coffee is being provided by the host coffeeshop.
