Authorities have identified the man badly injured in a truck crash on Route 96 in Seneca County late Tuesday night.
Steven E Mullen, 50, of 42 State Route 38 Richford, was traveling south on Route 96 when he swerved to miss a deer and went off of the east side of the road.
Mullen’s vehicle hit a road sign, went down an embankment and hit a tree.
Interlaken and Trumansburg Fire department extricated Mullen from the vehicle and he was airlifted by Life Net to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Deputies report that Mullen suffered a broken leg, and possible internal injuries, and is listed in critical condition at this time.
Trumansburg, N.Y. — One person was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries after a crash at the intersection of Kelly Corners Road and Route 96 Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The accident in the Trumansburg Fire District led to a major emergency response.
It took 25 minutes to extricate the patient from the truck involved in the accident.
It appeared that a pickup truck had veered off of the road and hit a large tree.
The Interlaken, Lodi, Ovid and Trumansburg all responded on the intial call, according to the Trumansburg Fire Department.
Interlaken continued to help look for the accident, and directed traffic while Trumansburg units went to work extricating the patient from the truck.
The Ithaca Journal reports that the scene was cleared by 1:30 a.m.
