Update 3:30 p.m. —
The following comes from a statement released by Ithaca College:
“A contractor is currently on the Ithaca College campus, working to restore power to the buildings affected by the failure of an electrical cable.
The latest update is that the Whalen Center, Gannett Center (including the library), Williams Hall, Muller Chapel, and the entire Campus Center—Egbert Hall, Phillips Hall, and the Phillips Hall Annex—will remain closed until at least 5 p.m.
All activities and classes scheduled for those buildings are cancelled and they are closed at this time. Faculty, staff, and students should not be entering or working in these closed buildings. Faculty and staff who normally work in those buildings are encouraged to work from elsewhere on campus or remotely, if possible.
Dining Services will be offering expanded services at its other locations because the Campus Center Dining Hall is closed.
We will provide an update later this afternoon, and we apologize again for the inconvenience.”

Those buildings remain closed and all classes and other activities scheduled in them are cancelled at this time.

The Gannett Center and the Whalen Center may be reopened by noon, with power restored in the other buildings later in the day.
