Local law enforcement were involved in the effort, with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, for instance, raising close to $500.
The event was sponsored by the Ithaca Polar Plunge for Special Olympics New York. It’s the second annual event.
“Top Fundraiser Gian Dodici and his daughter Emma …. $2,051 raised as of March 20th. Thank you Gian and friends,” the polar plunge Facebook page said.
