Ithaca, N.Y. — At least one person was hospitalized after a two-car accident near Ithaca Sunday afternoon, according to the Tompkins County 911 Dispatch Center.

The accident occurred on Route 96 near its intersection with Krums Corners Road. Route 96 was closed for a little but had reopened as of 5:30 p.m., dispatchers said.

The dispatch center wasn’t aware of the extent of the injuries. Trumansburg Ambulance was called to the scene; no helicopters were called.

New York State Police are investigating the crash of the cause.

The person was transported the Cayuga Medical Center.
