Lansing, N.Y. — A dog was hit by a vehicle in an accident north of Ithaca Wednesday morning.

The person who called 911 did not think the dog survived the crash, according to the Tompkins County 911 Dispatch Center. State police are on scene investigating the crash.

The accident occurred at 8:39 a.m. on the 3000 block of North Triphammer Road, according to the 911 dispatch center.

“They did not think (the dog) made it,” a dispatcher said. “When they called us they did not think the dog was alive.”

There were no reports of other injuries in the crash.
